year round events are walks you can do any day, any time... you just go to a specified start point (hotel front desk, coffee shops, rec centers), ask for a "walk box" or binder, fill out some forms, get your books stamped, take out a route map, and get walking.
the san jose one goes through downtown, the SJSU campus, part of the guadalupe river trail, parks, and a lot of cool neighborhoods with old victorians. it's not the most interesting walks... but it's better than average.

ever been to la victoria's near the campus? it's a victorian house that's been turned into a taqueria. i've had better burritos, but what puts their food above the rest is the orange sauce.
today's walk was #30 and the last one to finish my "event" book.
below are pics of the books of which i speak.
the top is the "distance" book. i'm still working on my first... i don't get to turn it in till i hit 500 kms. i'm only about 60% of the way there.
the bottom is the event book. this is now the 2nd book (11th-30th events) i've finished and i'm ready to turn it in for a pin and a patch. yay me!
scheck it out... i got some canadia stampies: #19 in the event book. 2nd panel, midway-down on the distance book.
